Our consultants are people, independent of a funeral home, cemetery or crematorium, who go out and do all the things a good memorial society should do. We keep our pricing data current, negotiate with the individual funeral home operators for better prices for our clients, offer alternate sources for funerary goods like caskets, outer containers, urns, monuments, flowers, etc. We charge a fee for our services, but we generally save the family several times that fee. We are consumer advocates who know the "ins and outs" of the funeral industry in Winnipeg and we use that inside knowledge to benefit our clients and our clients alone.
Shane Neufeld, our founder and managing director, was a Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer with a 23 year history in the Winnipeg Funeral Home market. He has been employed by both corporate funeral home operators and privately owned funeral homes in Winnipeg and Steinbach, Manitoba. He managed multiple funeral homes and cemeteries for the Alderwoods Group Inc. (now owned by SCI which brands themselves as Dignity Memorial). He has worked within (and managed) both operations and sales departments throughout his career. Most people have little experience in arranging death related services. The funeral home operators do it every day and they are experts at what they do. The average consumer knows little or nothing about the industry and tends to be at a disadvantage in that regard. Our goal is to neutralize that disadvantage. Sadly, Shane has been witness to more than one Winnipeg Funeral Home operator intent on maximizing profits rather than focusing on the needs of the family. His experiences have led him to leave the industry and focus on providing a level of service he could be proud of. His inside knowledge has proven invaluable to many families who are looking for honest, concise and unbiased information related to the burial or cremation of a loved one.
