My focus is on relationship counselling. This encompasses all forms of relationships on an individual, couple or group counselling basis. Often when clients come in, clarification may be needed in order for clients to fully understand their part in a relationship. If this is the case, the first sessions will be on how to communicate from a grounded, rational viewpoint. Once this is achieved, clients will move into the next phase of deep relational emotion focused counselling to allow for a deeper understanding of self and each other. When relationships suffer, it’s usually about connection or failed connection. Understanding each other on a deeper level and feeling that connection and appreciation for self and others is key to moving forward within relationships whether it be in a emotional, business, peer or family relationship. I often find that relationships have become extremely fragile before the idea of counselling comes into play. Counselling may be a great gift for newlyweds which will provide a framework for successful relationship building and ongoing care and guidance for sustainable successful relationships.
