Description
Fascial Release/Stretch Therapy
Fascial Stretching- Fascia is your connective tissue that surrounds and influences all other structures in the body. Because of this, it is very susceptible to injury or dysfunction from repetitive strain, poor posture or over training without a sufficient amount of mobility work to follow. This can create imbalances in the body making it very hard for an athlete/fitness enthusiast to perform at their max potential. It also makes it hard to get through a normal day without aches or pains at work, playing with your kids, etc. Fascial stretching is a form of treatment that affects the fascia of the body, and therefore can affect many structures, not just muscle. I work to find the cause of the problem and not just treat the symptoms. This way your injury will occur less and you will have longer lasting results. If the problem is from how you do certain movements or activities throughout the day, I can work to correct your movement patterns as well. You will see longer lasting results and less of a re-occurrence with injuries to keep you strong and healthy.
Stretch Therapy- Stretch therapy is where I stretch clients or teach them to stretch properly to ensure it is done correctly and that you are getting the most out of it. With assisted stretching I can stretch a client further and incorporate proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretching into a treatment plan. This method yields faster results then self-stretching as the athlete can be fully relaxed, which allows you to get a deeper and more effective stretch. If an athlete/fitness enthusiast is tight they can't get stronger and therefore creates imbalances, causing the athlete/fitness enthusiast to compensate during their sport or activity. This means you will move and function at a less then optimal level, which will increase your workload during activity. This makes you less efficient in your sport/activity and greatly increases risk for injury.
Nobody likes being in constant pain or discomfort so work your body hard and treat it like royalty! You are in it for the long hull, not short term satisfaction.
