Welcome Home Photography

Description

My name is Stacey Quintilian. I am twenty three years old. I drink a lot of coffee and tea, I love music, and most importantly, I love art. I have spent the last year feeling lost and uninspired, and decided it was time for a change. Welcome Home Photography is an ongoing project that through obstacles such as school and constant working, has always been put on the back burner for me. After being out of school for a year and struggling with working three jobs unrelated to my Visual Art degree I received from the University of Western Ontario, I have learned that life is meaningless unless you love what you do. Photography has been something that I have always wanted to seriously pursue, but never had the means or time to give it a shot. This is me giving it the best shot I’ve ever given.
I am well versed in digital and 35mm photography, having studied such topics at the University of Western Ontario. I shoot with a Nikon D60, a Holga 135, and an old Pentax 35mm. I have a lot of Photoshop and Lightroom experience, as well as the ability to develop my own film in a darkroom. A lot of my projects revolve around concepts rooted in feelings, especially related to the human psyche and how it evolves throughout the aging process. On the other hand, I also enjoy a more traditional approach to photo-taking, so please don’t think that I am selective when it comes to style. Anyting from portraits, concerts, weddings, engagement, and family photo shoots are something that I enjoy doing, and have experience in. I believe in collaboration between subject(s) and photographer, and am very open to discussing ideas and building concepts with whoever I am doing a shoot with. After I hit the “publish” button, I am officially making the choice to do what I love. So, for anyone choosing to come on this adventure with me, welcome. I’ll be seeing you!
