Kal Tire

Held hostage for a simple tire repair. Screw was in edge of last tread block angling towards center of tire; pierced the air chamber a good 30-35mm from sidewall. Was told tire was "unrepairable" and would have to buy a new one. Was told to "go elsewhere if I thought I could do better". I said fine, reinstall it. Oh, but "safety policies" ""prevented"" them! It might blow up! (Never mind it had had 20,000 lbs on it when I pulled in and hadn't blown -- it was just a slow leak). I said I would mount it using my tractor air and was then told they would refuse to reinstall it back on the truck -- liability concerns doncha know. How could I "go elsewhere" if they were holding my truck hostage. I took pictures of the inside and outside of the tire and things when down hill from there. I said I felt like I was being scammed and whenever the service manager didn't like what I was saying he'd throw his hands up and say "I'm just a scam artist, remember?". I was accused of attitude and being an a**hole.
