Welcome to the Lindenhof European restaurant! We have been a part of the Ottawa dining scene for thirty years and believe that our success is built on consistently good, home-cooked food and friendly staff. We thank you, our valued customer, for making the Lindenhof your restaurant of choice. The name Lindenhof means ‘courtyard of the linden tree’. At our former location on Richmond Road there was, indeed, a majestic linden tree on the property and, to our delight, we also have one by the patio. In mythology, the linden tree was protected by the gods and was often planted at a fork in the road to bid travelers a safe journey or as refuge from storms. The linden tree has also been venerated in a famous German song “Am Brunnen vor dem Tore” (da steht ein Lindenbaum. We sincerely hope you enjoy dining at the Lindenhof!
