My toilet was loose and I started calling down the list of plumbers. John the Plumber was able to get come out the same day and gave me a time window of arrival - not like the gas company where they'll arrive some time between 9 am and 9 pm. They showed up on time, took a look at the job, and gave me a flat rate price; the guy who showed up thought it would take 1.5 - 2 hours, it ended up taking a bit longer but with the flat rate pricing I wasn't out of pocket. I haven't dealt with many plumbers but they were polite and clean and gave me what I thought was a fair price, I'd call them again.
