The best way to reduce crime and keep a community safe is to:[br][br]
[ul][li] [li]prevent young people from dropping out of school[/li] [li]help out families in trouble due to poverty or abuse[/li] [li]improve the way people manage their life problems[/li] [li]provide treatment to offenders[/li] [li]keep people employed[/li] [/ul] [br][br] The John Howard Society provides a range of services to help people in all of these areas. Our programs address the root causes of concerns that can lead to crime. [br][br] These prevention programs help:[br][br] [ul] [li]educate/teach young people and adults in problem solving, decision making and conflict resolution skills[/li] [li]members of our community to make lifestyle changes before, during and after any conflict with the law[/li] [li]in assisting people to find and maintain employment[/li][/ul] [br][br] We receive funding from Municipal, Provincial and Federal Governments, along with United Way and donations
