The proprietor and main therapist, Arthur, has been looking to include a wider skillset for his clients. This has manifested itself with the inclusion of Swedish and Deep Tissue massage services being added to the list of Arthur’s main offerings. The Swedish massage technique involves five distinct motions: effleurage, tapotement, petrissage, friction, and vibration or shaking. In the Western world and particularly in North America, it is one of the most common massage techniques used and provides relief for a wide variety of different patients and ailments. It is certainly one of the least invasive massage techniques and is ideal for anyone who has not received a massage before. A Deep Tissue massage, on the other hand, provides a little bit more pressure to relieve pain in specific problem areas. It is designed to “dig deeper” within the body’s core skeletomuscular frame. Massage therapists like Arthur are capable of manipulating the body’s fascia to provide relief even from consistent pain. While Deep Tissue massages can provide some discomfort to the uninitiated, they almost always prove to be relaxing and restorative for those in considerable pain. In addition to the Deep Tissue and Swedish massage offerings, Arthur’s Bodywork & Massage has also recently included several healing arts into the repertoire including Quantum Touch and Bio-Energy Healing. This obviously provides a number of different options for patients looking for different kinds of relief. In fact, the traditional massage methods can be infused with some of these innovative healing techniques to make for a more holistic massage experience. The East Vancouver location of Arthur’s Bodywork & Massage is both convenient and comfortable. It is located in the top suite of a character house and provides a snug, almost tree-house atmosphere. Prices for In-call services are at a flat rate of $60 for 60 minutes or $90 for 90 minutes for either the Swedish or Deep Tissue massage. For outcall service, the pricing is $50 extra for travel time within a reasonable distance. Both male and female clients are able to utilize the full breadth of Arthur’s talents.
