World Academy of Music is based on Alania Music Studio, which was founded by professor Maya Djafarova in 2001. As head of the Academy, she monitors the progress of each student, providing her personal attention and guidance
The lessons are built on the great Russian traditional instructional methods, with a focus on technique as a way of expressing the musical idea, and emphasis on touch and tone control. Our students received hundreds of gold medals, awards, trophies and scholarships at International and Canadian piano competitions, Kiwanis Music Festival, Richmond Hill Music Festival, American Fine Arts Festival, Davenport Festival of Music and others.
