I started my musical journey at the tender age of 12, when all I wanted to do was to play rock music and really flashy guitar licks. When my mom got me my first acoustic guitar, I knew that was it for me. I had found my passion in life.
For the first little while, I spent a lot of time learning basic chords and melodies all by myself. It was a truly magical time for me. After half a year, my parents decided to put me in guitar lessons, and that's when I really started learning music. Guitar lessons inspired me to play and practice and made me appreciate all of the many different styles of music. Lessons were a big part of my musical development because that's where I learned most of my musical abilities: basic theory, technique and of course songs. At about the same time, I started interacting with other musicians at school and we were forming young bands. That was my first real experience playing with other musicians. All throughout high school, I was really involved in music and took the subject very seriously. After finishing my formal education, I continued my journey by taking private lessons from other great musicians in my community. It was around this time that I began to express a real interest in classical guitar. I worked in music stores where I developed knowledge about different types of guitars and all the related equipment and accessories. Through working in music stores, I was exposed to many local musicians and very soon, I was a part of serious touring bands where I learned about what it’s actually like to be a working musician. As time went on, people started asking me if I could teach them how to play certain licks or if I could teach their kid how to play. It started with just one student who made me realize how much I enjoy teaching and passing on the gift of music to other aspiring musicians. To this day, music is a huge part of my life.
