I called Whites Plumbing in Taber to inquire about a hot water tank installation. Over the phone I was told the average cost to install a tank is $250, depending on difficulty and time. With this "quote" I thought to save some money and make the job as easy as possible. I uninstalled the old tank, drained it and removed it from the house to the driveway. I brought the new tank in and placed it exactly where the old tank was. They showed up and hooked up the new tank. It took them 1 hr and they invoiced me $250.00 plus tax! After discussing this with the manager he refused to lower the price and is now saying the standard charge is $250, and there is no average. This is bad business. I will not use them again and would definitely not recommend them.
