Description
Alberta Traffic Supply Ltd. was incorporated in June of 1966 by Lorne Hooper. What began as a barricade rental service then quickly expanded to become Western Canada’s largest 3M certified sign fabricator for municipal, provincial and federal government agencies. Today, our typical clientele also consists of highway maintenance contractors, utility companies, road builders, construction companies, and resource-based industries (oil, gas and forestry companies).
In 2011, Alberta Traffic Supply Ltd. celebrated 45 years of growth in Alberta. We have sales and rental offices in Edmonton and Calgary, and employ over 150 staff in Alberta alone. Over the years, we have expanded throughout Western Canada and currently employ over 100 staff throughout Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British Columbia with offices in Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg and Langley. Each branch within the ATS Traffic Group operates independently from each other but all are well known for their commitment to safety and service in each of the jurisdictions that they serve. These companies include Guardian Traffic Services Ltd. (GTS) in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, Inprotect Services Inc. (ISI) in British Columbia, Work Area Protection Services Inc. (WAPSI) in Alberta and Trafco Canada Ltd. in all Western provinces.
The ATS Traffic Group has become the largest supplier of traffic control products throughout Western Canada. Our product line has expanded significantly and we now represent a diversity of products that includes parking meters, red light cameras, shoring products, digital graphics, solar lighting products, electronic message signage, impact attenuation products and a sign recycling service, just to name a few. Our Work Area Protection Services Division offerings include traffic accommodation strategies, technical and engineered traffic drawings and project management. Sign, barricade and equipment rentals along with sign installations are other services we provide. Parking and traffic control equipment is available through Trafco Canada, an ATS Company.
The ATS Traffic Group follows and adheres to provincial specifications for signage and traffic control devices. As trend-setters in the traffic control industry by providing roadway safety solutions for our clients, we research and work with our suppliers to bring proven roadway safety products to all levels of government, whether local, provincial or federal agencies. We provide optimum roadway safety devices that can aid in the reduction of traffic accidents.
The ATS Traffic Group is a proud supplier to the many municipalities across Western Canada that are members of various organizations such as the AAMDC, AUMA, SUMA, SARM and the AMM and also provincially to the Highway Departments and Highway Maintenance Contractors that maintain Western Canada’s highway systems. We work closely with Agencies such as these to ensure the latest in roadway safety solutions are introduced to municipalities and highways, providing safer roads for motorists, road workers and pedestrians.
With over 4 decades of experience in traffic control safety and representing the largest array of traffic safety products in Western Canada, our large outside sales department is well known by many of the local stakeholders in each of the communities and businesses that we serve. We are confident and enthusiastic about being able to collaborate with you on your traffic control requirements and contribute to making our roadways and job sites safer for everyone.
