Step’N Out Dancewear opened on February 14th, 1987 founded by Karen McLean. Over the years, it has become the largest dancewear retailer in the Greater Hamilton and surrounding areas. Step’N Out is now co-owned and operated by Karen and Stacey McLean: a result- oriented mother/daughter team with extensive knowledge and experience in the dance industry. Combined, they bring over 45 years of experience in the dancewear and retail market.
Each member of the Step’N Out team is experienced in all aspects of dance and strives to create a unique and personal experience for every dancer. Each staff member is trained extensively in product, fitting and customer service by Amy Gold, Director of the Step’N Out team. Amy, a former dance instructor herself, has years of experience and knowledge which has enabled her to educate not only the staff but bring a knowledgeable and positive experience to the clientele. From a mere 600 square foot retail space, together Karen, Stacey and Amy have grown the business providing their customers with a 2500 square foot dance haven. Making your dancers dreams come true with the latest trends in dance from Tiny Tots to dance professionals. Step’ N Out is proud to be a member of the Dancewear Association of Canada. Each year they attend both trade shows and conventions in Canada and the U.S. This provides their team with the latest information on new and basic product from the leading suppliers in the industry. As well, furthering their teams’ knowledge and education on superior product and competitive pricing. Karen, Stacey, Amy and the Step‘ N Out team understand the love of dance.
