Beckta Dining&Wine

We recently celebrated my husband's birthday in Ottawa and wanted to go somewhere special, to make it a real occassion. After much web research, it seemed like Beckta was the best choice for our foodie palates (my husband is a chef by trade) - and it did not disappoint! The ambiance was good, cute bistro type surroundings, but the food and service were absolutely phenomenal! The menu had just enough offerings (not too few or too many) and provided some intriguing/inventive combos like pork-belly and softshell crab. I'm still dreaming about it months later! The service was attentive, but not cloying. Many times restaurants of this calibre come with a bit of attitude or arrogance, but everyone there seemed to be eager to please - and did so in a respectful manner. When the bill came, we were delighted that it was much more reasonable than far less satisfying meals that we've experienced elsewhere, before. We'll be sure to return....and this time we'll bring our friends. I know they'll thank us!
