Description

Homeopathy is an effective and scientific system of medicine with the distinct approach to life, health, disease, remedy and cure. It was discovered and promulgated by Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician in 1790. Homeopathy is derived from the Greek words:- Homoios= Similar, and Pathos= Suffering. Homeopathy is based on the law of "Similia Similibus Curentur", which means Let likes be cured by likes". It can be explained as follows:- Any remedy which in large doses, could create a particular set of symptoms, can in minute doses, relieve same symptoms. Take Ipecac, for example. Taken in high doses, it causes vomiting. But when used in homeopathic doses, Ipecac is one of the principle remedies for nausea and vomiting. Another example is Coffee, known to affect sleep for most people ( like during school/college exams, students take coffee for studying in the night, preventing their sleep). But when taken in Homeopathic doses, Coffee treats certain types of Insomnias.
