Doug Dixon & Associates Inc. was founded in July 2017 to provide services in the field of Bridge Engineering.
Doug Dixon & Associates' bridge engineers have experience in all types of bridges including highway, pedestrian, heavy and commuter rail, utility, animal crossings, culverts and emergency replacement bridges. We have designed and provided construction administration of fixed and movable bridges for highway and rail traffic. We are experienced in all materials for bridges including, steel, reinforced, precast and post-tensioned concrete, masonry, timber, composites, aluminum, and corrugates steel. Engineers in the firm have more than 60 years of combined experience providing exclusive bridge engineering services. Our firm provides a level of bridge engineering knowledge often associated with only the larger national or multi-national firms. However we can do so with a more personal approach by assigning Senior Bridge Engineers to be directly responsible for all Owner’s assignments. Doug has more than 36 years of bridge engineering experience covering every aspect of Bridge Engineering. Doug has worked for all levels of government as well as the private sector. Doug is familiar with P3, design-build and Construction Manager – General Contractor (CMGC) approaches to delivering bridge projects Doug is a member of three Technical Subcommittees for the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code for the development of the 2019 Edition of the CSA S-6. He is Chairperson of Section 11, “Joints and Bearings”, and a member of both Section 13, “Moveable Bridges” and Section 15 “Rehabilitation”. Doug is also a voting member of Technical Committee for the CSA S6 Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code.
