Visual Artist located in North Vancouver : Visit my gallery or register to an Art Class or a workshop. I am also holding weekly non instructional life drawing classes.
My work has been published in many art books and magazines. I am currently working on a watercolor instruction book for beginners to be published by North Light/F+W Books at the end of 2014. I am an active member in my community: I am a cofounder of the North Shore Art crawl, a cofounder of a weekly life drawing group, a board member of the North Vancouver Arts Council. and I have been invited as a juror for public art, art grants and juried exhibitions. The studio is an oasis of calm, spacious and luminous with an inviting minimalist decor. Few charming details (knitted rocks, the felted hearts, tea kettle) give the space a homey look while the sobriety of the walls ( all white one dark grey) and the practical furniture leave plenty of room for your own creativity. The result is a beautiful space emanating peacefulness. Sandrine quiet demeanor and insightful guidance allows you to fearlessly try out new techniques. Drawing or making art with Sandrine (puppets for me) is a joyful experience. I was very self-conscious and totally unsure about the quality level of what I was creating but Sandrine helps me focus on the pleasure of art-making without worrying to much about other people's judgement while helping me be satisfied with the end result. Sandrine's studio is more than a place. It is a state of mind made real, one you can find again when you want or need it, a bit like my childhood fort was. The fact that her studio is very accessible with (free) parking spaces available near by (and that in summer you can have tasty and healthy treats just next door) is a bonus... Sian W. It is also a professional environment where she holds art classes for different levels and in different materials. She also has displays of her beautiful artwork which inspire.
