India Bookworld, formerly established as Asian Publications (Canada) in 1993, has been a leading supplier of South Asian books in North America and around the world. After 20 years of success in online and wholesale operations, India Bookworld has now established one of the first retail stores of its kind in Canada. This new bookstore opened at Surrey’s York Business Center in February 2014 with an inaugural ceremony attended by over 150 local residents, authors, librarians and dignitaries. Even Canada’s Prime Minister’s office sent warmest greetings on this occasion:
“Through the creation of this new Store, Canadians of all backgrounds are exposed to South Asian history and culture, and these thriving Multicultural communities and businesses are integral part of our country’s success as a pluralistic democracy”. India Bookworld specializes in books and audio-visual material on a wide range of topics: religion, culture, history, languages learning, children, yoga, health, cooking, arts, Bollywood, astrology, numerology, and a large selection of fiction and non-fiction popular books. In addition to English, these books are available in popular Indian languages, including Punjabi, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Urdu, Sanskrit, Tamil, among others. These books and other materials are imported from India, the UK, and USA on a regular basis.
