I am a Clinical Psychologist with 34 years of experience working in hospitals, university and currently only in private practice.
Prior to my Ph.D, I earned a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from McGill University. As part of my doctoral training, and after graduation from the University of Alberta, I spent two years as a doctoral intern at the Montreal General Hospital. I have also worked overseas in a pediatric oncology unit and in a Pain Clinic. Then I was recruited to be the Director of the Psychology Department at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton, AB. As well as helping cancer patients and their families, I supervised doctoral students and interns and was involved in many research projects. I was cross-appointed to the University of Alberta where I taught and supervised students. I achieved the level of Clinical Professor of Palliative medicine. Following my departure from the Cross Cancer Institute, I worked at the University of Alberta Hospital in the Burn and Trauma units.
