Description
We take comfort food seriously.
We believe the food you eat ought to be as genuine as the people you share your table with. Our menu respects the ingredients, the producers and the land that make it up. A hard-earned hunger deserves good, clean food. Made with care. Dished straight-up, every time.
“Mile One”: Pemberton is truly a gateway to adventure into wildspaces. Mile One represents our vision of being the beginning or end of one’s journey. It is a reference to the mile markers you’d find exploring the many logging roads in the area. And it’s a nice nod to One Mile Lake which is the ultimate marker of Pemberton – the sign for visitors today, as it was a sign for trappers, gold-seekers and turn of the century pioneers that they had arrived somewhere they can take a load off and replenish their energies.
“Eating House”: The Eating House is referenced in Haida / First Nations culture and exemplifies the importance of food, and nods to Pemberton’s pioneer roots. It also emphasizes Mile One’s commitment to dishing up good quality relatable food from carefully sourced ingredients. As Michael Pollen says, if your grandparents wouldn’t recognize it, it’s probably not food.
