Anne Beiler, the original Auntie Anne, began making pretzels to support her husband’s vision for a family counseling centre. In 1998, they bought a stand at a farmer’s market in Downingtown, Pennsylvania and began selling their hand-rolled soft pretzels. In no time, a legend was born.
In June 2006, Auntie Anne’s®sold its billionth pretzel, and today, the company has over 950 locations in 43 states and 16 countries. Not bad for a couple starting out at a farmer’s market. Best of all, Auntie Anne’s® still makes theirpretzels the same way that Anne Beiler did – hand-rolled and baked to golden perfection.
