Originally from Croatia, Ines Gavran is a Toronto criminal defence lawyer with an advocacy practice in criminal and regulatory litigation.
Ms. Gavran vigorously defends clients against State Prosecution and represents professionals before their regulatory bodies. Ms. Gavran uses her trial experience and advocacy skills to strategically negotiate with the Crown Attorneys and has successfully obtained withdrawals for her clients. After receiving her LL.L and J.D from University of Ottawa, Ms. Gavran completed her articles at one of the largest criminal defence firms in Toronto. Following her call to the Ontario Bar, Ms. Gavran opened her own practice in downtown Toronto. Ms. Gavran interned with the Honorable Justice R. Lapointe in the Criminal Court of Quebec. She co-authored “Fearon Case Commentary: Warrantless Cell Phone Searches” which was published in Criminal Lawyers’ Association “For The Defence” Magazine. She has also authored several articles published in the “Criminal Lawyers Magazine”. Ms. Gavran is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Criminal Lawyers’ Association. She is also a standing member of the Criminal Code Reform Committee.
