I have been working with children and families for the past 30 years as a researcher, therapist and educator in Canada and in global conflict and disaster zones. I use the therapeutic play and expressive art techniques to help children identify, understand and cope with their issues. The children are seen in individual settings. Parents and care givers are consulted and communicated with on a regular basis. The approaches I use are non-directive and eclectic, suited to the needs of each individual child and their innate ability to process and heal.
Areas of expertise: Adoption, attachment issues, Anger Management, Anxiety or Fears, Depression, Child Witnesses of Domestic Violence, Abuse, Parental Separation and Divorce, Loss and Grief, School Related Stress and other kinds of trauma. Through the medium of play I can meet the therapeutic needs of very young children (4-12 years). I am culturally very sensitive and bring in my global experiences of working with children to the practice
