In all most all of the cases I've seen where this has been said, I come in to find a sorely misunderstood dog. If you want to really enjoy your dog and you're ready to make some changes for them, I can help you!
Specializing in large & working breeds. I practice a BALANCED training philosophy. This means I utilize any tool or approach that will work best for the individual dog. If you only use treats or only use a choke collar, you are only going to be able to help some dogs. I want to help ANY dog that comes my way! My training is based on dog psychology, not human psychology, treats will sometimes be used, they have their place, but I will never allow a dog to become reliant on them. You cannot trust a dog to listen in any situation if they only come if you have treats in your hand! Of course a dog needs to be rewarded for their good behaviors but I prefer to do this with play and praise. What we really want is for us to be the reason our dog wants to listen, we want to be their best friend while also having their respect. There is a balance for this and it's a beautiful thing when you find it! Boarding is done in a home-like building next to my house on 100 beautiful acres of fields and forest trails. I try to keep it to about 10 clients here at a time so that everyone gets the proper daily attention and exercise. They get more exercise and play daily here then they do on a daily basis at home (in majority of cases). Dogs staying here get 2-3 walks/day as well as playtimes. Boarding with me was mainly for those who are already clients but, with our new building, we are now taking on new boarding clients! We do generally get booked rather quickly, especially for peak holiday times so please inquire in advance to ensure your space at K9 Balance Blue Mountain! On the intake form you will find many different add ons are available, such as daily frozen pb & yogurt kongs, pre drop off bath and or brush and massage sessions, training sessions and even MOVIE NIGHTS!
