Williams is an excellent restaurant, useful for many occasions. It is great for hanging with friends, doing some work by yourself, or taking a date. They offer coffee, hot chocolate, cakes, brownies, various pastries, sandwiches/wraps and other dinner items. I am personally a fan of the cakes, they always have one or more delicious type in. The cost of food is average. It is about the same (or less in many cases) than other coffee shops like Starbucks and Symposium. I really like this Williams location particularly because it is not like some other Williams that are just a fast food/Tim Horton's type coffee shop. This location has nice seating and decorative art, not to mention it is steps from UW campus. I'd absolutely recommend this restaurant to someone.
I have spent many a days and many hours here. There food is only ever so-so (limpy lettuce, burnt sandwiches, etc.) and there coffee is never overly that good either. It kind of tastes burnt here. But, being that it is so close to the University of Waterloo, it was an easy place to go, grab food and a coffee, and work on homework. The only thing is the managers here hate the fact that they get all the students. I never really understood that, since they are located in the plaza right beside the university, but they seem to hate students. The staff are pretty good, so I never have issues when it is just them working, but the managers don’t even like young people, so I try to avoid it if I am not coming directly from the university.
